Lime Trees Residents Send Message to Council 15 October, 2007

Three petitions were presented by local residents at last week’s Full Council meeting. All came from concerned constituents on the Lime Trees area. Monica and Tina Smith presented a petition with over 230 signatures from residents in Laughton, Bengarth Roads and neighbouring streets. They were calling for funds to implement the much needed traffic calming scheme which has been drawn up following meetings hosted by Cllr Bassam Mahfouz. Transport for London are currently considering funding the scheme and should report later this year with a decision.
There were also two petitions presented on behalf of most of the residents of Lauder Close calling for better access to the bottom of their road for emergency vehicles and issues around a new Niblock building located at the top of their cul-de-sac. (coverage is available in this week’s Ealing Gazette)
Cllr Bassam Mahfouz also tabled a motion at Full Council about the importance of doing our bit to tackle climate change.
If you would like to present a petition to full council or would like more information about what you can do to help tackle climate change then e-mail Cllr Bassam Mahfouz on bassam.mahfouz@ealing.gov.uk
