Bassam at the Ealing Jazz FestivalAre you enjoying the summer festivities?

Cllr Mahfouz has joined residents enjoying some of the limited summer sunshine over the past couple of months by attending the Greenford Carnival last month in Ravenor Park and spent last weekend at the famous Ealing Jazz festival. You may recall the Tory administration coming under criticism earlier this year for their decision to charge entry for the Ealing Jazz festival, which was formerly the largest free Jazz festival in the country. Cllr Mahfouz said, “It was strange having to queue up once to get a ticket and then again to get passed security, but once in the music was just as good. Seeing Dick Esmond and his Sound of 17 Big Band with Eileen Scott on vocals was amazing as always. We’ll have to wait and see if numbers were down, but I’m glad that because of the concession we got out of the Conservatives, which allows children to go for free – the event has still attracted families.”
