Labour’s Councillor Mahfouz welcomed the switching on the pedestrian lights at the Kingshill Avenue/Yeading Lane junction last week after months of lobbying. Cllr Mahfouz had been regularly pushing Transport for London, who are responsible for the crossing, to switch on the lights and make the busy junction safer for residents to cross. He said, “I’ve grown up going past this crossing every day on the way to school, everyone knows how dangerous it is. The lights were installed months ago by Transport for London to make it safer for youngsters to cross this busy junction and get to local schools such as Barnhill, Viking, Downe Manor and St. Raphael’s, finally we have them switched on in time for the new school term.”
