Former Liverpool and England star John Barnes visited our very own West London Academy in Compton Crescent to speak to sixth form students. The Ealing Leader covers the story in this week’s edition as legend Barnes spoke about his own education and prolific footballing career. John started his football career at non-league Sudbury Court FC before joining Watford and going on to glory with Liverpool. He played over 500 league games netting over 150 times, with a further 12 goals in his 79 international caps for England.

The Central Line has undeniably improved over recent years but commuters in Northolt still have to face delays from time to time. For many this is at the very least frustrating, for others it can mean having wages docked, or missing important meetings or exams.

Did you know that if you are delayed by 15 minutes or more on your journey and it is the fault of London Underground then you are entitled to a full refund for the delayed journey?

Clearly the tube controllers cannot be resonsible when peoples’ actions delay trains by pushing the emergency button or similar, but when they’re are responsible for the fault, then they are also responsible for the refund.

If you are delayed by signal failure or because every train seems to be going to Ealing Broadway rather than Northolt or West Ruislip then you could claim. You can now even claim online!
